The Board is composed of representatives from government, business, education, economic development, labor, workforce development and other partners to the workforce system.


The goal of Yonkers Workforce Development Board is to fully integrate all job seekers with the surrounding business community thereby decreasing unemployment and providing employers with qualified candidates to hire.


  • To improve the quality of life for Yonkers residents by assisting them in becoming employed and self- sufficient.
  • To reduce the unemployment rate of Yonkers residents.
  • To create new entry level positions for employees who have barriers to employment.
  • To ensure that the Yonkers Workforce Development Board become the first point of contact in meeting the employment and strategic needs of Yonkers businesses.
