(Mayor Mike Spano welcomes technology company Mindspark to Yonkers)
Located along the Hudson River, Yonkers is New York’s fourth largest city and the largest city in Westchester County. A city in the center of it all, Yonkers serves as the gateway between New York City and the Hudson Valley.
Yonkers is convenient, affordable, and offers opportunity for almost every residential and commercial investment. It’s why some of the biggest projects in the Hudson Valley are happening here, and why you should be part of it.
Yonkers has a strong economic foundation. We are one of the most diverse cities in New York State. We offer an outstanding customer and employee base, and a location where you will enjoy the benefits of the regional economy.
Department of Planning & Development
The City of Yonkers Department of Planning & Development consists of the offices of Community Development, Economic Development, Planning and Downtown and Waterfront. It is the Planning and Development Department's responsibility to support the promotion and coordination of development activities within the City.
Yonkers is a great place for filming. The City’s location along the Hudson River, diverse landscape and proximity to major transportation thoroughfares, just minutes from Manhattan, all make Yonkers an ideal location for the film and television industry.
Mayor Mike Spano is committed to making Yonkers a leader in sustainability. Over the last two years, working alongside the New York State Power Authority and other partners, Yonkers has launched one of the most ambitious and comprehensive energy plans of any city in the state – Yonkers Green City.
