ABANDONED VEHICLES - Vehicles abandoned on private property are the responsibility of the property owner.  To report abandoned vehicles on public property, call the Police Department, 377-7900.

AGING, OFFICE FOR THE - Provides information and assistance to older residents and their families concerning benefits, entitlements. The office provides meals, transportation, access to home care, social day care, health awareness programs and recreational programs at no charge, 377-6822.

ANIMALS, ADOPTION OF - The Yonkers Animal Shelter, under the auspices of the city's Parks Department, temporarily houses stray dogs and cats. Unclaimed animals are put up for adoption at the shelter, 120 Fullerton Ave. Open M-F 11:30 am - 3:30pm., Sat. Sun. Hol. 12 noon - 3:30 pm., 377-6730.

ANIMALS, DECEASED - Contact 377-HELP (4357).

ARBORIST - The Department of Parks and Recreations is responsible for all city trees, 377-6450.

ARSON - Contact the Yonkers Fire Department, 377-7963.

ASSESSMENT, DEPARTMENT OF - Analyzes units of new construction or changes to current property in order to update the city's annual assessment rolls. Assists with all applications for exemption and maintains tax maps, 377-6200.

ASSESSMENT REVIEW, BOARD OF - Hears taxpayer complaints in relation to assessed values of real property.

AUCTIONEERS - The Consumer Protection Agency oversees all Auctions and Auctioneers within the City of Yonkers, 377-6807.
