September is Suicide Prevention Month. If you think you or someone you know are at risk of suicide, the Yonkers community is here to support you. The City of Yonkers is providing mental health resources to a toll free suicide prevention hotline, an online suicide prevention chat line, and the number to a suicide prevention textline, as well as a list of community mental health providers serving the Yonkers community. When we know the risk factors and warning signs, we can save lives.”
When you or someone you know is experiencing thoughts of suicide, please reach out by phone, by chat, or by text to get help, call someone you know for support, go somewhere safe, and do your best to wait out the feelings until they pass.
