Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a Program that provides strictly confidential counseling and referral services for all City of Yonkers employees and their families.
Flexible Spending Accounts (administered by The Preferred Group):
Health Care and Dependent Care FSA: These voluntary plans are designed to provide you with tax savings on certain health care and dependent care expenses. Annual maximum contributions for the plans are $2,500/year and $5,000/year, for the health and dependent care accounts, respectively. New I.R.S. Regulations allow for an annual $500 carryover for 60 days after the end of the calendar year.
Life Insurance (offered by First Reliance Standard Life)
City-paid Life and AD&D: The City of Yonkers provides Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. The amount of City-paid coverage varies based on bargaining unit as indicated below:

You may also apply to purchase additional voluntary life insurance for yourself and your dependents through First Reliance Standard through payroll deduction.
Allstate Critical Illness Insurance Plan
Allstate: Offers a Critical Illness Insurance plan that pays a lump sum at point of diagnosis. This plan is voluntary and is paid by the employee through payroll deduction. New employees can enroll within 30 days of hire date. Due to the pre-tax status of payment of premiums, once enrolled, changes can only be made during annual open enrollment periods.
Aflac Cancer Protection Plan
Aflac: Offers a Cancer Protection Plan with a Critical Illness Rider. Payments are made per procedure. This plan is voluntary and is paid by the employee through payroll deduction. New employees can enroll within 30 days of hire date. Due to the pre-tax status of payment of premiums, once enrolled, changes can only be made during annual open enrollment periods.
