Workers Compensation

The oversight and management of the City's Workers' Compensation program is located in the Department of Human Resources, which covers over 6,000 employees including the Yonkers School District. New York State employers are required to provide Workers' Compensation and disability benefit coverage to their employees who have experienced a work related accident or illness.

The City of Yonkers is a self-insured employer and has contracted a Third Party Administrator (TPA) to oversee the workers’ compensation claims on its behalf and its affiliated agencies. That Third Party Administrator is POMCO Risk Management, Post Office Box 325, Syracuse, NY 13206.
