The City of Yonkers will be hosting the Mayor's Mobile Tax Office at the following locations and dates:
Monday, July 16th: Coyne Park Senior Citizen Center
Wednesday, July 18th: Homefield House
Thursday, July 19th: Grinton I. Will Library
TAXES ARE DUE FRIDAY, JULY 20TH 2018.
All locations will available from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. If you have a current water bill, you may also pay at any of these locations. 2018/2019 City Tax installments are due:
1st installment: July 20th, 2018
2nd installment: October 9th, 2018
3rd installment: January 7, 2019.
Q: I REPRESENT A TITLE OR MORTGAGE COMPANY, HOW CAN I GET PROPERTY TAX/WATER INFORMATION?
A: Anyone, including Title and Mortgage Companies, can come in to research outstanding
Water and Taxes on a property for free in the Assessment office, Room 100 in City Hall.
There is a $5.00 fee per property per year for the Tax and Water Department each to
research the Property.
No information will be provided by phone or e-mail without a processed fee. Please allow a two-three week lead time. Payments made payable to:

Q: HOW CAN I UPDATE OWNERS INFORMATION FOR WATER ACCOUNTS?
A: New owner’s information must be submitted in writing to the Water Department directly. However, please be advised that a new owner name change WILL NOT be done unless the City Of Yonkers can verify the change of ownership via the filing of the NY State Transfer tax document. Address changes/updates WILL be done with a copy of a driver’s license or some other form of address proof.

- Mailing address (if different from property location)

- Copy of Driver’s License.

A: The homeowner can submit a request by fax at 914-377-6169.
Q: HOW CAN I GET A HISTORY OF MY TAX PAYMENTS?
A: The owner can call 914-377-6138/6141/6146 to get a history of tax payments.
Q: HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF MY TAX BILL?
A: You, the owner only, can call 914-377-6138/6141/6146 to request a copy any prior or current tax bills.
Q WHY MUST I PAY INTEREST ON MY TAX OR WATER BILL?
A: All delinquent Tax or Water Bills accumulate interest from the Confirmation Date, or due date for water, at a rate of 15% annual. Interest cannot be waived for any reason.
Q: WHEN IS MY CITY PROPERTY TAX BILL DUE?
A: This year’s due dates are: August 8, 2017, October 6, 2017, and January 8, 2018.
2nd payment is due October 6 (unless it falls on a holiday/weekend, then it’s the next business day)
3rd payment is due January 8 (unless it falls on a holiday/weekend, then it’s the next business day)
The County Tax payment is due sometime in March/April of each year.
Q: WHEN IS MY COUNTY TAX BILL DUE?
A: The 2018 County Tax is due April 9, 2018.
Q: I TRIED TO PAY MY TAXES OR WATER BILL ONLINE AND ITS NOT WORKING?
A: Enter your account number. If your water bill is past due, you cannot pay over the phone.

If your taxes are paid by a Mortgage Company or you refinanced recently please contact the Tax Office by calling 914-377-6138/6141/6146.
• Please check the Account Number. You must enter your account number, as listed on your bill (11 digits total). Example: 04522021000.
• If this is a current year's bill you must enter the correct year.
• If taxes are delinquent more than 1 year, you cannot pay online.
Q: I RECEIVED A TAX BILL; MY MORTGAGE COMPANY SHOULD HAVE PAID IT?
A: Please contact your bank. They must contact the Assessor's Office at 914-377-6200 to update the file.
Q: I RECEIVED A STATEMENT "THIS IS NOT A BILL"; I NO LONGER HAVE A MORTGAGE COMPANY?
A: You can use still the “this is not a bill” coupons to send in with your payment. You can also retrieve the amount due online and make a payment. Please contact Assessment Department at 914-377-6200 to discuss the information needed to update your parcel. You can also contact the Tax Office at 914-377-6138/6141/6146 to have a Bill sent to you.
Q: CAN I PAY MY TAX OR WATER BILL AT MY LOCAL BANK?
A: No, local Banks are no longer accepting tax or water payments.
Q: WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY WATER BILL?
A: The City of Yonkers is divided in six water districts which are billed two times a year.
The first number of your account, represents the District that you will be billed.
If your account starts with the Number 1, you will be billed on January 31 and July 31.
If your account starts with the Number 2, you will be billed on February 28 and August 31.
If your account starts with the Number 3, you will be billed on March 31 and September 30.
If your account starts with the Number 4, you will be billed on April 30 and October 31.
If your account starts with the Number 5, you will be billed on May 31 and November 30.
If your account starts with the Number 6, you will be billed on June 30 and December 31.
Q: I RECEIVED A DELINQUENT TAX/WATER NOTICE, BUT I PAID THIS BILL?

Q: WHAT IS THE INTEREST CHARGE ON MY OUTSTANDING TAX OR WATER BILL?
A: 15% simple interest annually is charged from the bill date for water and from the confirmation date for taxes.
