Yonkers Mayor Spano Announces Free Curbside E-Waste Pickup of Tv’s And other Electronic Devices
YONKERS, NY – January 14, 2020 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, along with the Department of Public Works, today announced free curbside E-waste pickup of televisions and other electronic devices (anything with a cord) will be available to City residents on Saturday, January 25. Acceptable forms of electronic items include computers, printers, toasters or other electronic devices with an electrical cord.
“Yonkers continues to lead the way in its sustainability efforts and recycling is a big component of that,” said Mayor Mike Spano. “Making recycling and trash disposal as easy as possible for our residents through home pickups is a great way to contribute to our ongoing efforts in making Yonkers a greener city.”
Beginning January 21, the Department of Public Works will accept appointments for curbside E-waste pick-ups on Saturday, January 25 to all Yonkers residents who live in a 1-6 family housing unit. Residents must call the Mayor’s Help Line this week at 914-377-(HELP) 4357 to make an appointment for pickup.
Appointments must be made the week of January 20, until Friday, January 24 by 12 noon. All electronics must be placed curbside by 7AM on Saturday, January 25. Residents are also encouraged to bring these items to the City’s Recycling Center located at 735 Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers. This free service will be available all year Monday - Saturday between 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, to all residents who can provide proof of Yonkers residency.
