YONKERS, NY – November 4, 2019 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, along with Commissioner Tom Meier and the Department of Public Works, today announced the Yonkers Organic Yard located at 610 Nepperhan Avenue in Yonkers will remain open to homeowners and landscapers on Tuesday, November 5 from 8AM-4PM.

“The facility, which is normally closed for Election Day, will remain open as homeowners and landscapers are still cleaning up due to last week’s storm,” said Mayor Mike Spano.

The Yonkers Organic Yard will only accept leaves in brown paper yard bags, branches up to 10 inches in diameter and yard brush.  NO plastic bags are permitted.

The Organic Yard will resume regularly scheduled hours of operation on Wednesday, November 6 from 7:30AM to 4:15PM. For more information, residents are encouraged to contact the Mayor’s 24-Hour Helpline at 914-377-4357.
