Mayor Spano Appoints New Trustee to Yonkers Board of Education
YONKERS, NY – November 15, 2018 – Mayor Mike Spano today swore in Dr. Ammir Rabadi as his newest appointment to the Yonkers Board of Education. As trustee of the Yonkers Board of Education, Dr. Rabadi will join eight other members of the Board, which is the official policy making body of the School District. Dr. Rabadi replaces Trustee Nader Sayegh who vacated his position on the Board since recently being elected to the New York State Assembly.
“As we work toward providing our students with the best education possible, I am proud to appoint Dr. Rabadi to the Board of Education as his unique perspective as a medical physician will be a valuable asset to our District in regards to the health and well-being of our students,” said Mayor Spano.
Dr. Rabadi joins the Yonkers Board of Education as an alumna and parent of the Yonkers Public Schools. Dr. Rabadi has operated his own private medical practice in Yonkers since 2009. He currently serves as the Medical Director at St. Joseph’s Medical Center Outpatient Care, is the Medical Director of Education at St. John’s Riverside Hospital and at Carerite Nursing and Rehabilitation. Dr. Rabadi also is a Westchester County Police Medical Surgeon and is the Assistant Clinical Professor for New York Medical College. He also serves as the Chairman of the Mayor’s Health Advisory Board and is a member of the Westchester County Health Transition Team. Dr. Rabadi holds a medical degree from New York Medical College and a Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattan College.

His integrity as a medical practitioner and experience within the community will provide additional depth to the already experienced and diverse group of educators and professionals on the Board."

Dr. Rabadi will fulfill the remainder of Sayegh’s five-year term through May 3, 2022.
