Yonkers Mayor Spano Appoints New Acting Commissioner of Department of Housing & Buildings
YONKERS, NY – September 26, 2018 – Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano this week appointed Vincent Pici, P.E. as Acting Commissioner of the City’s Department of Housing & Buildings. Pici replaces James Luke, who accepted a position as a Plan Examiner for the City’s Building Department.
“Vincent holds impressive credentials and will be a valuable addition to our Housing and Buildings team,” said Mayor Spano. “His in-depth knowledge and years of municipal engineering experience certainly will be an asset to the department and we look forward to working with him.”
As Commissioner, Pici will evaluate building designs, construction plans and proposals; authorize issuance of building permits; supervise and participate in inspections of buildings and other construction projects; oversee collection of permit fees, annual renewal fees and more. Prior to joining the City of Yonkers, Pici served as the Bronxville Village Engineer and supervised the Building, Planning, Zoning and Engineering functions for the Village of Bronxville for over 30 years. Previously, Pici worked as a Construction Coordinator for Westchester Medical Center. Pici holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Manhattan College and a Masters of Public Administration from Pace University. Pici is a licensed professional engineer in New York and Connecticut.
