Mayor Mike Spano and the City of Yonkers are urging residents to donate and help the people of Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands.  A disastrous earthquake and record breaking hurricanes have devastated islands and caused widespread property damage.  Thousands of people have experience power failure, and in some cases serious tragedy.

Here are options for Yonkers residents to make a difference:

Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board

In conjunction with Mayor Spano, the Mayor’s Hispanic Advisory Board has partnered with the AFYA Foundation of America which is a YONKERS BASED non-profit that collects and delivers critically needed surplus medical supplies, hospital equipment and humanitarian provisions for acute and ongoing health crises and disaster relief worldwide.  There will be boxes at Yonkers City Hall, Yonkers Public Schools and all Yonkers Public Libraries for donations to be accepted.  For more information, visit AfyaFoundation.org
