The written examination is designed to evaluate knowledge, skills, and/or abilities in the following areas:
- Advising and interacting with others.
- Using logical reasoning to draw valid conclusions.
- Mechanical reasoning.
- Understanding and interpreting written material pertaining to fire.
Physical Strength/Agility Exam
The physical strength/agility exam is designed to test the ability of the individual to perform, in a reasonable manner, the duties and responsibilities of a Firefighter such as climbing a ladder, pulling a fire hose, and lifting fire equipment. Applicants will have the opportunity to go through the physical strength/agility course before the actual exam. To assist in preparing for the physical portion of the exam, each individual course is demonstrated in a series of videos, provided at the link below.
