  1. To obtain an alarm permit, you must fill out an Alarm Permit Application (PDF). You can obtain a copy of the application by either calling the City Clerk’s Office or by coming in person. You must send all three (3) copies to the City Clerk’s Office for processing.

  2. Commercial alarm holders are charged a $50.00 yearly fee for the alarm permit. Residential alarm holders are not charged a fee. A sticker is issued once, which should never be removed. A yearly, renewal sticker is sent out automatically and can be removed from year to year.

  3. False Alarms

    1. The City Clerk’s Office receive Yonkers Police Department-50 False Alarm Response Reports. These reports are given by the police officer who responded to your home’s false alarm.
    2. The first three (3) false alarms are free of charge. Any subsequent false alarms are fined as follows:

      4TH and 5TH False Alarms are fined $50.00 per each occurrence
      6TH and thereafter are fined $100.00 per each occurrence
      After your 3rd False Alarm you will receive a bill automatically from our office.

APPEALING A FALSE ALARM: Alarmholders have the right to appeal the charges against the, they have 14 days to appeal. The appeal must be in writing. The City Clerk reviews the all appeals and then can further go to an appeal board for a hearing.
