In our continuing effort to improve plan review turn around time, the department has developed design guidelines based on the Residential Code of New York State. You will need to download said forms entitled the City of Yonkers Residential Code of New York State Design Forms.

It is required that the applicable forms to be completed, signed by the design professional and submitted with any Building Permit Application for a new one/two family/townhouse dwelling or additions thereto.

To further expedite review and approval of new applications under the Residential Code of New York State, the department has provided a Professionals and Applicants Certification.  This form is optional and is part of our program to reduce and hopefully eliminate our backlog of residential applications. Please read this form carefully as it describes the responsibilities of the design professional and requires an applicants signature. Should a design professional not wish to utilize this form, the application will be reviewed per our standard practice utilizing the required Residential Code of New York State Design Forms.

Please review the aforementioned documents and offer any comments or suggestions to the undersigned. It is our hope that with mutual cooperation between design professionals and this office, plan review time can be reduced while preserving the health, safety and welfare of our residents through effective code enforcement.
