Mayor Spano announces 2016 Summer Film and Concert Series line-up

YONKERS, NY – June 6, 2016 – Mayor Mike Spano today announced the schedule for the City’s 2016 Summer Film & Concert Series that will run during July and August at several Yonkers Parks.  The free and family-friendly series is open to children of all ages.  

“With more than 70 dynamic parks and playgrounds in Yonkers, there is no better way to spend your summer nights than to enjoy an outdoor movie or concert with family and friends,” said Mayor Spano.

Movies will be screened on Thursday evenings in July and August.  The films will begin at dusk at various locations throughout the City.   All movies are family-friendly and are rated either PG or PG-13.

Music begins promptly at 7PM on Wednesday nights throughout the summer. Genres range from Jazz to Latin, to Pop, Swing, R & B and more.

Music and movie performances are subject to change. Residents are encouraged to bring their own seating. The full movie and concert schedule is as follows:

July 7 at Richter Field – Pan (PG)

July 14 at Culver Street – Goosebumps (PG)

July 21 at Trenchard Street – Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG-13)

July 28 at Kardash Park – Minions (PG)

August 4 at Schultze Field – Hotel Transylvania 2 (PG)

August 11 at Georgia Avenue – The Good Dinosaur (PG)

August 18 at Skating Rink – Inside Out (PG)

August 25 at Kinsley Park – Zootopia (PG)

MUSIC

July 6 at Andrus Park – Total Soul – R & B/Soul

July 13 at Grant Park – Bandhits – Funk/Jazz

July 20 at Coyne Park – Celtic Cross -  Irish/Rock/Pop

July 27 at Lincoln Park – Trombonaso – Latin/Jazz

August 3 at Cerrato Park – Pep and The Soul Explosion – R & B/Soul

August 10 at JFK Marina – FDR Drive – Pop/Rock/Motown/Swing

August 17 at Fleming Field – Son Sublime – Cuban Charanga Band

August 24 at Welty Field – Jonny Hirsch Band – Rock/Funk/Jazz

August 31 at Skating Rink – Larry Chance & The Earls with Guest Steve Michaels – Doo Wop/Rock N’ Roll
