Dear Friend:
Each year, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, we set aside Veterans Day to honor the many brave men and women who have served our country in uniform. Americans from every walk of life gather to celebrate the Veterans from generations past, honor a new generation of Veterans home from war and thank future Veterans, still serving at home and abroad.
Today, on Veterans Day, take a moment to reflect on some of the rights and freedoms that have been afforded to us by the sacrifices of our Veterans - our right to vote, like so many of us did last week on Election Day; our right to speak freely, in support or opposition of our government, without fear of reprisal; our right to practice the religion of our choosing and our right to love openly; and the protections afforded to us by the very best justice system in the world.
To our Veterans - you are among the best our City, and our Nation, has to offer. God bless you and your families, and thank you for your service.
